I just love the show “Alice”! I recently saw an episode and was totally taken down memory lane! I even recently noticed that you can watch episodes online for free at an AOL site. That is really cool! I don’t know what it was about that show, but, when I was a kid I loved watching it so much! It might have been Linda Lavin, or her character, rather. Alice just seemed like such a great person, and she seemed to be doing such a great job as a single mother.
But I think it was more than just that, because, I can feel myself wanting to go on and on about Vera and Flo, too – and maybe even Mel! I just loved everything about it, and when I watched it, I felt like I was a very quiet customer sitting in a corner booth just watching everything going on! I remember actually wishing that I could move to Phoenix! I’m not kidding! Since we have been talking about moving lately, I guess I could check up on Phoenix real estate, but, I doubt we’d want to deal with the heat! It definitely would be cool to see the diner that the show was based on which is still there and in business!
Kiss my grits, Mel!
I love animals and jewelry, too
I would love to have a collection of animal jewelry. It is so hard to pick from, though. I do have my favorites – dogs, horse, elephants – but, I really love all kinds of animals. Whenever I am on, say, The Animal Rescue Site, where I like to remember to click the ‘feed the animals’ button, I get so overwhelmed. There are so many different pieces that I like. I just recently got a locket with a picture of my sweet dog in it. It is the prettiest locket! I just love it! My kids love to bring me elephant stuff and point out elephant stuff to me, because, they know how much I love elephants. Sometimes they even bring me home their school magazines, when they’ve had a story in them about elephants. But I do love lots of different animals.
Honorary badge and getting focused!
Today I get one of these:It’s an honorary badge – just like colleges give out honorary degrees – I’m giving myself an honorary ‘List Complete’ badge! See, I haven’t actually completed the list in quite some time, however, I did some SERIOUS exercising last weekend! We went to Canyon River Falls and went hiking around and had a great time. And one of our hikes almost killed me! So I’d say that qualifies me for a badge!
I am, however, concentrating on getting back on track since we’ve been back from Texas. I seem to always miss a thing or two, but, I’m working on it every day. I have a lot of friends online focusing on getting healthy and that is inspiring me and helping me out!
I am so grateful that so many of my friends are on the same wavelength, because it helps so much. There are so many days when I just completely pretend I have nothing to work on and completely ignore my health. With all my friends talking about it all the time, though, it is hard to BS myself!
Thank you, blog – you totally rock!
Dear blog,
Although I seem to have abandoned you, you have been at the forefront of my mind every day – and for that, I thank you. Life is going a lot smoother lately because of your helping me to focus on healthy habits. It has been a long time since things have felt this nice and I know it is because every day I am thinking about the Healthy Habits List, and working hard to earn my flowers!
Yep, blog, you’re definitely the coolest blog I know! Thank you so much!!
Love,
Lisa
Hurts in the sand – blessings in stone
I came across this wonderful story this morning at Two Moms In A Blog, a lovely and sweet blog I’ve been reading since it was started about a year ago.
The story is called Written in Sand. Check it out – I know you’ll love it as much as I did!
