The HSUS Assists San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in Raid of Alleged Cockfighting Operation : The Humane Society of the United States

This one really hits home with me, because, I’ve been so shocked to find so many schools and universities that still have the mascot name “Gamecocks”.  It just blows my mind that they haven’t changed their mascots.  I really should research how many schools there still are with it. It’s just nuts!

Ouch! More pain in my mouth!

I have really got to get myself to the dentist – I don’t know how long it has been, but, I think it would freak me out more if I could actually remember! I just went and brushed my teeth after lunch, and another spot is hurting! Geez! I’m not sure if it’s the tooth or my gums that are hurting this time. I think it’s the gums. Wow – if you look at that picture and how it shows the nerves going up to the gums – yeowtch! Just looking at that right now hurts my mouth! LOL

We have found a wonderful dentist in the next town over and he’s done some great work on one of our sons, I’ll probably have to just start saving up and go to him. I remember one time, years back, I went to some dental chain. Who knew? Before that, I had no idea there was such a thing. And the other weird thing about them is that they were in the mall. Go to the dentist in the mall? Now that felt really strange. They were pretty good though and I remember their being really nice, as well. The dentist took his time explaining everything to me and making sure that I understood everything. That would be the last thing I’d expect from a chain dental office. The image in my mind is more like an assembly line.

In fact, I once went to a dentist that felt exactly like an assembly line. It was awful. And the dumb girl tried to talked me into xrays when I really didn’t want them, because, I was pregnant. I just didn’t feel like it was that urgent and let me tell you, I worried about that for weeks afterward! That was just the kind of place it was – sell ’em and sell ’em hard! Jerks! After an experience like that, I can understand why someone would want to go to a San Diego sedation dentist! Or worse, some of the stories my mom and people from her generation tell about going to the dentist when they were kids! Scary!!!

I’ve never been entirely happy with the looks of my teeth, though, and I would love to go to a San Diego cosmetic dentist and have something done. What? I don’t even really know what all would need doing, but, I just don’t like my teeth all that much.

My daughter has braces and my husband is now thinking that he will get them, too. And so we got into a discussion about the looks of our teeth. They think I’m being silly and that I should be grateful for my teeth. I totally understand where they’re coming from, but, if I did have the money for it, I would have some kind of something or other done to spruce mine up, too!

Make Valentine’s With Your Kids
By Nicole Dean

Homemade Valentine’s are great for your kids to give to the really special people in their lives like Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, Aunt’s and Uncle’s, brothers and sisters, best friends and of course, Daddy! But unless you start them at Halloween, we suggest you stick to boxed cards for all their friends at school! Here are some fun and easy ideas to make Valentine’s Day cards with your kids…

Hearts and Hands Valentine

Here’s what you need:

Construction paper (two different colors)

A pencil

Markers

Scissors

Glue

Here’s what to do:

1. Trace your child’s hand on a piece of construction paper with a pencil and then cut it out.

2. Draw a heart small enough to fit on the hand with a pencil and cut it out.

3. Glue the heart to the front of the hand.

4. Have your child write a special message inside the heart. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Grandma! I love you with all my heart!”

This is a great card to make for Daddy.

Prim Valentine

Here’s what you need:

Brown paper bag

Pencil

Markers

Scissors

Hole punch

Red or pink ribbon or yarn (about 1/4 in. works best)

Here’s what to do:

1. Use a pencil to trace a large heart on a brown paper bag. Cut out the heart. You can use fancy scalloped scissors (like the ones used for scrapbooking) to jazz up the heart!

2. Make a series of holes around the edge of the heart using a hole punch. The number of holes isn’t important, but be sure to make it an even number.

3. String the ribbon or yarn through the holes starting at the bottom of the heart working your way up. Tie the end pieces (which meet at the top of the heart) into a bow.

4. Have your child write a message on the inside of the heart or use stickers to decorate it and write the To: and From: on the back.

This card makes a great Valentine for Grandma.

You’ve probably had your child make special cards for a loved ones birthday. Why not for other special days, like Valentine’s Day? Nothing says “I love you” like a homemade card, especially from a child. Be sure to remember special people to have your child make Valentine’s for, like elderly neighbors and friends that have moved away.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here Are Some Ideas To Get You Started On A Work At Home Career

Thanks to the rising costs of daycare and transportation and the desire to have a parent home with the children, today many moms choose to work from home. This arrangement is sometimes called “telecommuting”, and it allows parents the opportunity to set up a workspace in their homes to earn a living instead of having to leave the home daily.

They might also choose to start their own businesses, instead of working for another company. Working from home is rising popularity and the Internet is offering many different types of careers and business opportunities to moms. And for proof that the work at home dream is possible, be sure to check out the success tips from moms just like you in the

· Party Consultant (beauty, health, jewelry, home decor, adult, etc.) We all know about companies like Avon and Tupperware, but there are so many more opportunities for moms and they are still a popular way to earn an income. · Virtual Office Service. Are you a people person who likes to do customer service and to provide other office services? Then a client service job might be perfect for you. Many large firms are hiring Mom’s to work from home answering customer calls and providing other office support virtually. These jobs can pay between $8-12+ an hour. You can also start you own business providing customer service directly to clients and increase the amount you charge per hour.

· Selling on Auction Sites or Craft Boards. Many Moms sell their unwanted items on auction sites like eBay.com or sell their crafts on boards like Etsy.com for a source of income.
