Seven things about this spelunking hippie

I’ve been tagged for another meme by Karen at The Pond, and this time I am supposed to tell you seven facts about myself. Ok, that’s cool – I can handle that.

Here’s how it works:

You have to come up with seven “facts” about yourself and post these rules:

1) Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
2) Share 7 facts about yourself.
3) Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. (Or be completely lazy and skip this step.) 😉
4) Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. (So then you’d have to skip this step, too.) 😉

Seven facts about Lisa:

  1. The second finger on my right hand is bent -from writing! LOL! Nail girls get frustrated with me – because, nails are tricky to put on because of it!
  2. I have a ginormous collection of angels (books, figurines, etc.) and I almost started a website on them once, and I was going to combine my My Very Own Mail newsletter with it – calling it ‘Angels and Bookworms’. I just loved that – thought it was so cute. Not very ‘niche-smart’ – but, super cute! Ha! That was years ago, before I even knew about niches at all!
  3. I also collect trucks – that won’t surprise some of you who hear me carrying on about trucks plenty!
  4. I have been to drug rehabilitation twice.
  5. I am a major packrat – even with my computer! My doc’s – a mess. My pics – a mess. My email – a mess. Something must be done! hahaha!
  6. I have the worst indigestion right now – EVER!!!
  7. I have pages and pages of posts that I want to write in a notebook on my desk – I am so behind!!

And now you know seven more things about me! If you’re reading this – TAG! YOU’RE IT!!

Tell us seven things about you, too, please! Pretty please!

Self Portrait Sunday

Just another Sunday – ya’ll go check out the rest of the Self Portrait’ers right over here: Digicass: Self Portrait Sunday.

Self Portrait Sunday October 7

So here I am in my ‘messy, you put off your work till the last minute again so you better just get busy – forget about showering – powder your nose and stick on a hat’ – Sunday self!

It’s funny, for one of the company’s that I work for – I have a deadline every two weeks. I know that deadline is every second Monday. I know that. And yet, it never seems to fail that I put it off to the very last minute – every. single. time.

I don’t intend to – I surely do not. I just keep saying, ‘It’s ok, I’ll start on it tomorrow.’ And next darn thing I know – that Monday morning deadline is sneaking up on me.

It’s getting so bad, that even the kids are hollering at me! “Mom! You are always telling us not to put off our assignments until the very last day and here you are doing it!”

Eeeps! Duly noted.

I will meet my next deadline in a timely manner.

I will meet my next deadline in a timely manner.

I will meet my next deadline in a timely manner.

I will meet my next deadline in a timely manner.

I will meet my next deadline in a timely manner.

(Copy and paste sure makes ‘sentences’ a lot easier! Hahaha! Don’t tell Mrs. Beasley – or whoever your evil detention teacher was! LOL!)

Now ya’ll get on over to Cass’ place and check out the other Sunday Self Portraits!

Friday ‘Sunday Self Portraits’

My friend, Cass, has a fun weekly meme that I used to always join in on, but, it seems lately (like the last few months), I keep on missing it. Oftentimes, I have even gone so far as to get cleaned up, put on MAKE-UP, made sure I had good lighting, like quoizel lighting, and have actually taken the picture! And then what? Well, I got busy doing stuff with the family, intending to post it in the evenings, and just wound up too tired or got home too late.

So today, on this lovely Friday, I’m going to post some Sunday Self Portraits. So there.

Now, this first one was taken on 8-26-07. You can click the ‘SSP’ graphic and go see all of the other Sunday Self Portraits from that day!

I decided on that Sunday to just take the pic ‘as is’, because , the day before I had gussied up for company that was coming over and for some pics I wanted to take in my cool Switch t-shirt. I was going to post the pic and tell you all about the great new soda called Switch on Saturday – and then on Sunday morning you would have the ‘just me as I am on Sunday morning’ picture. But you can see that my ‘blogging plans’ are not exactly happening as they should lately! (I can definitely see that – I have two pages full of things I want to blog about on my desk staring me down with evil eyes! I feel like I’m in Senior English again with Mrs. Whitley – and way, way behind! Ugh!) The ‘Switch Soda post’ is on the list and forthcoming…

My most currently behind Sunday Self Portrait is from last Sunday, September 2nd. Again, you can click on the graphic and see the lovely portraits of everyone else who participated last weekend.

This last weekend I spent the majority of my time crying. I miss my family in Dallas so much, and sometimes it just overwhelms me, and this weekend was one of those times. This picture was taken after my Sunday morning cry. I thought I might as well portray the truth and the reality of my life, instead of trying to cover it all up with glitz and glitter. I’m sure it would’ve looked horribly fake, anyway, as I’m not very good at ‘hiding’ my feelings. So under the mascara and the jewelry, you’d have seen something wrong – so I just decided to show it to you. And the funny thing is, I know that is not a flattering picture, I know that – but, still, there is something cute about it. Of course, my mother swears that my ‘beautiful’ second-born child wasn’t really beautiful. My sweet, little red alien boy. God bless his little heart. Did anyone else give birth to an alien? I bet you thought he was beautiful, too, didn’t you? Mean ol’ Grandma! (I’ll have to show you Shawn’s hospital pictures one of these days. You might even back Grandma up!)

You know, I’m happy that I’ve done this. Way behind, way late, and I just don’t care. I am so happy to have done it. I have been meaning to get back into this thing for months and months. There was one Sunday that we were going to the museum, so before we went I took pictures. I just keep doing that, and then not posting. So I’m glad I posted – even if it is Friday!

Who knows – maybe this week, I’ll post my Sunday Self Portrait on Sunday. It could happen.

She had the nicest things to say about me! Thank you so much, sweet lady! I truly appreciate it!

I have definitely met some super cool chics while blogging! So I think I’ll tag five of my cool blogging buddies as ROCKIN’ GIRL BLOGGERS!

Laughing 13Colleen – I have learned so much from her and she’s darn funny, too!

On The Computer 24/7 Kumiko – She hasn’t even been blogging that long, but, I’ve learned so much from her, too! I think she must be on her puter 24/7 learning so she can teach us!!

Blowing Kisses Retta – She made my header, and then expanded on that thought, and made my theme. She definitely rocks!!

Rocker 5Ami-chan – She is one of my awesome Punkymom friends, and a blogging friend! I like it when ‘my worlds’ collide like that!

If you’ve been tagged, just grab the Rockin’ Girl Bloggers badge and tag five more powerful woman bloggers you know. Pay it forward and the phenomenon will keep on going and going. If you’re either a guy or your name isn’t on this list, it doesn’t mean you can’t participate. Just grab the badge and tell a girl blogger out there that she rocks!!

Self Portrait Sunday

I thought you might want to see what I woke up to today! LOL! I have recently discovered that it is quite comical to have short hair – because when you wake up in the morning – you never know what you’re going to find!

Go HERE to see how to play along with us, and go HERE to see all of today’s pics!!

Question of the Week

This is my first time to participate in the Question of the Week for WAHM’s. This week’s question is:

What is your “Breakfast of Champions”?
(What do you normally eat for breakfast to get you going in the morning?)

I doubt you could call it a breakfast of champions, maybe champion bad-eaters! HA! I always have coffee, Sprite, a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter, and either a cup of dry cereal, or toast with jelly.

It’s not the healthiest, but, I suppose it’s not the worst, either. I have to have my peanut butter, though – I don’t really eat a whole lot of meat, so it is my staple food!
